Verizon Wireless’ 4G LTE network was awarded the top spot on PCWorld’s 100 Best Products of 2011 list. For this annual list, PCWorld editors rank the very best hardware, software and services of the year. In carrier versus carrier 4G wireless speed tests, Verizon Wireless’ 4G LTE network was the clear winner. According to Tim Moyninhan, senior editor of PCWorld, “Verizon’s LTE service smoked the competition in our 4G LTE speed tests, with download times almost three times as fast as most competitors’.” The editors also took into consideration the value that the speed and availability of the network adds to a variety of devices.

PC Magazine conducted a 21-city, 3G and 4G network test across the United States and found that the new Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network is much faster than other mobile Web options, with speeds that often exceed home Internet connections. There were more than 140,000 tests run looking exclusively at mobile Internet.

M:Metrics surveyed more than 30,000 wireless customers from November 2007 through January 2008 about their overall satisfaction with the existing wireless service and found that among the nation’s largest wireless carriers, Verizon Wireless customers are: most satisfied with their existing service, most likely to recommend the operator to a friend, and are least likely to switch operators.
