Marquett Smith

Vice President, Federal Government Sales

Marquett Smith is vice president of Federal Government Sales for Verizon Wireless, the largest wireless company in the United States, with responsibility for managing sales and customer service, negotiating customer agreements and ensuring compliance in working with federal government accounts nationwide. A premier technology company, Verizon Wireless operates the nation’s largest 4G LTE network.

Prior to his current role, Smith was vice president of Corporate Communications, responsible for national media relations, community relations and employee communications.  He has also served as president of the company’s Upstate New York Region and vice president of Customer Service. He has twice won Verizon Wireless’ President’s Cabinet Award for sales excellence and has received the prestigious Verizon Chairman’s Award for outstanding business leadership.

Smith began his career in 1985 with Sprint and held executive positions of increasing responsibility in service and sales with America Online, Cybercash and Interliant.

Smith is a member of the board of directors of Big Brothers Big Sisters New York and The Wireless Foundation.  He has served on the boards of the United Way of Rochester and the Memorial Art Gallery of the University of Rochester.

Smith received a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Radford University and completed the Executive Management Program at MIT Sloan School of Management.
